Meet the Therapist

Rachael Ashcraft, LMFT

Hey there! I’m Rachael, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Round Rock, Texas. I graduated with a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Friends University in Kansas City, Kansas (my hometown) in 2021, and moved to Austin soon after.

I believe the main working component of therapy is genuine connection. Building trust and safety with a therapist who “gets you” allows you to begin to examine what’s really at the root of some of these recurring patterns you may be experiencing in relationships and throughout your life, so you can change the cycle and find new growth once and for all.

I specialize in people-pleasing, boundaries, and anxious high-functioning adults who are ready to finally put themselves first. It can be so exhausting taking care of everyone and everything around you, only to feel unrecognized, burned out, and depleted. Changing these dynamics takes time and practice, and I’d love to be with you every step of the way.

When I’m not being a therapist, I love spending time with my partner and my German Shepherd, Zeppelin. I enjoy furniture flipping, trying new restaurants and practicing yoga and meditation.

Therapeutic Style

My therapeutic approach varies by the individual. I use the therapeutic relationship, client strengths, psychoeducation, trauma focused techniques, Gottman method, Family systems, and/or EMDR to meet the client where they’re at. I find that this allows me to meet the client’s individual needs to promote lasting change. My values in the therapy room (and in life) include authenticity, growth, and human connection without judgement.

My clients can expect to gain insight into how their thoughts impact their daily lives and take away skills allowing them to feel and express emotions in a healthy way. We will collaborate to find repetitive patterns in your relationships so that we may replace them with healthier ways of communicating and coping, all while finding acceptance for who you are at your core.
